#LoveOzYA is entering a new era and we’re looking for a dynamic, committed board to help shape what comes next. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role at a pivotal moment and help define the future of a registered not-for-profit.

Who we’re looking for
We are seeking expressions of interest for the following voluntary board roles:
- Chair
- Deputy Chair
- Secretary
- General Board Members
We’re building a board with a mix of skills, perspectives and experience. You don’t need to have served on a board before, but you should bring relevant expertise and a willingness to engage actively in governance and strategy.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Publishing, education, libaries and/or the arts
- Governance (financial, legal) and board leadership
- Project management and program delivery
- Partnerships, fundraising or sponsorship
- Communications, digital strategy or community engagement
What you’ll do
As a board member, you’ll play a key role in guiding #LoveOzYA’s direction and impact. This includes:
- Advocating for the value and visibility of Australian YA writing
- Setting strategic priorities and overseeing their delivery
- Strengthening the organisation’s governance and sustainability
- Supporting programs that promote and celebrate Australian YA literature
- Building relationships across the publishing, education and arts sectors
This is a collaborative, working board. Members are expected to contribute ideas, energy and expertise.

Commitment
Board members will attend regular monthly meetings and contribute to working groups as needed. Time commitment will vary depending on each role, but we aim to create a structure that is purposeful and sustainable.
