Girls Write Up Brisbane

Girls Write Up is a day-long festival for teens aged 12–18 that teaches empowerment through writing and sharing stories. At its Brisbane debut, Girls Write Up will feature author and pop-culture critic Brodie Lancaster, playwright, scriptwriter and author Michelle Law, and writer and activist Nayuka Gorrie, along with many others. The keynote will be given by award-winning theatre-maker, actor, poet and activist Candy Bowers, and there will be a variety of practical workshops on offer, including slam poetry, creating characters and writing from life. Girls Write Up is presented by the Stella Schools Program.
